So, as some of you may know I love rabbits very very much. I’ve had bunnies all my life, and will continue to take care of them and love them for the rest of my life. But, with a bunny comes responsibility. I am posting this because I found a baby rabbit that someone had thrown outside. (She was not a wild rabbit, it was very obvious that someone had thrown her out. She is safe now, she is being fed and she is being taken care of.) Easter is coming up, and this time a year is probably the worst for rabbits, because parents will buy their children rabbits as a gift, but will realize that a rabbit is too much work/not what they expected and they throw them out. DO NOT DO THIS!!!! DO NOT BUY YOUR CHILDREN RABBITS FOR AN EASTER GIFT UNLESS YOU INTEND TO TAKE CARE OF IT AND FULLY SUPERVISE IT. Rabbits are NOT toys. They are a 10-13 year commitment. They require lots of care and attention to be happy. Domestic rabbits will NOT survive outside all by themselves. They are very sensitive and anxious animals.
DO NOT BUY RABBITS AS TOYS!!! THEY ARE LIVING ANIMALS AND DESERVE CARE AND LOVE, NOT TO BE THROWN OUT!!!
If you know anyone thinking of buying their child a rabbit for Easter, please inform them of the real responsibilities of a rabbit! And if you would like, PLEASE reblog for awareness.
