MENTION OF SUICIDE BELOW

all-harlows-eve:

Hi there, I’m going to discuss a rather taboo topic here for a bit.

It is NEVER okay to blame someone for a suicide attempt or suicide. As someone who has depression and anxiety and has been on the edge many times, I would NEVER blame someone or accuse someone of putting me in that situation. My biggest issue is when people use their mental illness in an attempt to manipulate or guilt someone who has done nothing wrong. This is a tough situation because no one will talk about it without fear of being called out by the community for ignoring mental illness or treating someone a certain way because of their mental illness. This has to stop and people shouldn’t be scared for their reputation if they choose to stand up for themselves when they’re being manipulated.

Telling someone if they don’t do something you’ll commit suicide, is wrong.
Telling someone who calls you out on something you’ve done that they drove you to suicide, is wrong.
Telling someone you’re going to commit suicide in an attempt to MANIPULATE THEM, IS WRONG.

If you are truly considering suicide, please reach out for help. This is not meant to undermine mental health issues nor is this meant to offend anyone. If anything I have said offends you, I am truly sorry.
