Simblr runs on WCIFs. They’re so useful and almost everyone has sent at least one looking for that super cute cc. But there’s some basic WCIF etiquette that needs to be introduced if you don’t already know (which you probs do.) Let’s break it down:
1. Check their WCIF/resources. Most simblrs have a WCIF tag at the very least, many have complete resource pages with their most used cc. Always check these first to make sure your question hasn’t been asked already (put /tagged/wcif on the end of their url if they don’t have a link for it)! (ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY EVEN ACCEPT WCIFS!!)
2. Do not ask from mobile. Stick the post in question in your likes and ask when you get back to a computer. You don’t need to know where it’s from so quickly that you can’t even wait. If you ask from mobile, you can’t check wcif tags or include post numbers. Just hold it in until you can look around on your own first.
3. Send an ASK! Send an ASK not a reply, not a message. Asks can be kept track of easily, and the blogger can easily remember someone sent them an ask when they go to their inbox. Replies get lost super fast and messages are invasive.
4. Say hello and thank you. We all learned proper manners growing up. Say hello and thank you. Don’t be a rude asshole. You’ll be more likely to get your WCIF answered if you are simply polite.
5. Include the post number. People can’t always get to WCIFs right away. Include post numbers (from the url) or a description of the post so the blogger can know what you’re talking about if they can’t get to it right away!
6. Be patient. Tracking down cc for WCIFs can take a lot of time and effort, especially if someone uses a special little graphic or is really busy. Be patient, or ask again after a while (NICELY!). If you need something right away, go looking on cc blogs like sssvitlans and try to track it down yourself.
Remember: No one is obligated to answer your WCIF, you are asking someone else to take their time to track something down for you and give you the links for it when they certainly don’t have to. Be polite and understanding, and you’re much more likely to get help.
Hope this has been informative and/or helpful!
A little reminder.
