iris: i can’t believe he’s turning four. he’s growing up so fast! 

tyler: i don’t even wanna imagine what it’s going to feel like when he’s sixteen or twenty!

iris: oh god, please don’t even mention it! i’m already going to cry when he blows out the candles.

tyler: can i ask you something?

iris: of course.

tyler: so, we’ve been hanging out an awful lot and i’m not going to lie, i still love you and i know i made a huge mistake putting my wants before yours and i am so incredibly sorry. being with you and dexter makes me so damn happy. iris berry, i am in love with you and i never stopped loving you. would it be crazy if i asked you to be my girlfriend?

iris: i won’t lie either, i didn’t stop loving you as well and even though i’ve tried to ignore the feeling, i can’t anymore. i do want to be with you tyler, but if i say yes we have to take it slow. no rushing things like last time. so yes, i’ll be your girlfriend but you have to promise me that you won’t hurt me again. 

tyler: i promise.

iris: i guess that makes me your girlfriend then, doesn’t it?

iris: do you want to go to the museum with dexter and i tomorrow? i think it would be a good bonding experience as a family.

tyler: of course! i can’t wait.

iris: dexter’s birthday is in a few days and i was thinking about throwing a party at the willow creek pool! what do you think?

tyler: i think it’s a great idea, with this excruciating heat, swimming sounds so nice.

iris: okay, it’s settled then! i know dex will love it.
